We would love to add more content into this game, there is still a lot that we want to explore with the Geometry Wars formula.įinally, what’s next? Could we be looking at a Geometry Wars 4 on the horizon? We have put a lot of time and effort into ensuring we had a game that we felt would be a true successor to Retro Evolved 2.Īre you guys looking to add more content to the game in the future? What about the possibility of user-generated levels?
We have been really grateful of the positive response that fans have given us with our game. What has been the response to Geometry Wars’ return thus far? Are fans thrilled to see that it’s back? It makes the game play in a totally different manner and it is interesting to see how you can lure the enemies into your deadly beam.
I’m a big fan of some of the new modes especially the Scorpion mode.

What would you say is your favorite new component with this update that will really draw players in? A new adventure mode with 40 levels that has new enemies and game modes, a hardcore mode where you have no drones or supers and loads more besides. We have added a lot of new playable content. What exactly is included with the Evolved update? The Evolved version also gave us a chance to do some changes and additions which came out of the great feedback from fans who had purchased the game. It was great to put some of the concepts that we couldn’t finish for the original game into the Evolved update. When any game is in development you have to draw a line on when to stop adding things otherwise you will never hit a release date. To get the lowdown on this new update – and Geometry Wars in general – we turned to Lucid creative director Craig Howard, who discusses the game’s new expansion, as well as where it may be headed next…įirst off, what prompted you guys to work on an Evolved update? Recently, though, Lucid Games took it to the next level with a free update, Evolved, that added a number of new features and stages. Ever since its release late last year, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions has proven to be a great revival title for Activision’s Sierra brand, bringing back all the enjoyable (yet challenging) twin-stick shooting fun we remembered from the good ol’ Xbox 360 days.
